My battle with relationship OCD
My boyfriend was amazing—supportive, encouraging, caring, hardworking. We were compatible in our faith, personality, interests, and vision for life. Everyone else saw the positives in our relationship.
But the fear and doubt gnawed at me…
What if he’s not the right one for you? What if this relationship isn’t God’s will for my life? What if…?
As the relationship progressed, those doubts grew deeper, filling me with fears that demanded an answer. Some days, I spent hours spiraling in my head. My time with him was filled with angst too. I even feared letting myself get too close—just in case.
I felt like I could never be too certain about my relationship.
Six months into this relationship, I came to a point of desperation. I was exhausted, tired of fighting the battle in my head, tired of questioning my relationship.
A desperate search online led me to the culprit—relationship OCD. It was a BIG sigh-of-relief moment. At last, I had hope that I could break free from this exhausting battle. The issue wasn’t my relationship; it was my own beliefs and thought patterns that needed to shift and grow.
Faith-based freedom for OCD & anxiety
The Steady Heart is an outgrowth of that journey. As I researched and sought help, I realized that many of the resources for OCD and anxiety didn’t support me in my faith journey or address the deeper heart issues and misbeliefs that were fueling my anxiety.
That’s why I’ve created this space for Christian women that combines evidence-based tools and key spiritual truths for true, biblical relationship confidence. My goal is to help you experience the freedom of understanding who God is, who you are, and what He desires for your relationships.
